Gabriela Moreno
"I feel privileged to have been a part of Human Nature Contemporary Ballet. I am excited and eager to see the company expand and flourish into a group that El Paso can love and appreciate."
Native to the El Paso area, she began her dance training at the age of four in Folklorico with Rodolfo Hernandez. She then proceeded to join Mr. Hernandez’s company Ballet Folklorico Paso del Norte where she had the opportunity to perform at several venues in the Southwest region for Mexican singers, Pepe Aguilar and Pedro Fernandez. Gabriela began her training in Jazz at Champion Dance Studio with Eva Garza as well as Drill and Dance for Musical Theatre with Belinda A. Saenz in high school. During her junior year, she had the honor of attending the TDEA conference as an All-State Dancer. Upon graduation, she knew dance was crucial to her life and very dear to her which led to enrolling as a Dance Major at the University of Texas at El Paso. Gabriela’s eyes were opened to what the art truly was, beginning to take Ballet, Contemporary and Hip-Hop with Lisa Smith, Myron Nadel, Andrea Vazquez, Gerard Gibbs, Julian Maldonado, José Barraza and Rafael Chávez. Being fully immersed in the art, Gabriela has been part of UTEP dance productions such as The Trials of Pobrero El Campesino and Dreamscapes: A Multimedia Dance Event. She has also been fortunate enough to be part of the UTEP Dinner Theatre’s productions of In the Heights and Footloose. Ms. Moreno taught and trained in Ballroom at Shundo Dance Studio for almost a year and has been training in Aerial as an apprentice for Project in Motion. In the summer of 2015, Gabriela attended a dance intensive in Florence, Italy on a partial scholarship where she took class with Eileen Juric, Alice Sarkissian-Wolf, Monica Baroni, Brigitte Vittur and Amy Chavasse. Grabriela has danced with Ballet Nepantla.
